The SACK Monthly Coalition Meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 11th, beginning at 8 a.m. at the Jail Training Room. We are excited to welcome guest speakers Grace Higgins and Dr. Pete Dehnel, from Physician Advocacy Network to discuss trends in with tobacco products and the health and medical risks associated with them.
- Data collected from the 2016 Minnesota Student Survey (MSS) shows that while cigarette smoking has declined over time, 11% of Kanabec County 8th, 9th, and 11th graders reported past month e-cigarette use which is higher than the State of Minnesota average. This same data also reports past 30-day tobacco use, which includes cigarettes, cigars, chewing tobacco, e-cigarettes and/or hookah. Comparatively, Kanabec County 8th, 9th and 11th grade students (2016 MSS Survey) report a 17% past 30-day use rate as to the State of Minnesota average of 13%.
