Two Mental Health First Aid courses are being held FREE of charge with funding provided by collaborative partners: Northern Minnesota Suicide Prevention & Crisis Text Line, University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy, Pine County Public Health and University of Minnesota Extension.

Q: Why should you or someone you know take the Mental Health First Aid training?

A: Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. The 8-hour training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and connect them to appropriate care.

Q: Who should take the course?

A: Community Members; First Responders; Faith Leaders; Coaches; Caregivers; Health Care Professionals; Teachers; anyone 18 years of age or older.

Q: What does this course cover?

A: Common signs and symptoms of mental illness & substance use; How to interact with a person in crisis; How to connect a person with help.
