National Drug and Alcohol Fact Week – January 22 – 28, 2018

This week Above the Influence (ATI) student in Mora are sharing facts about alcohol, tobacco and other drugs with their peers. One of the info-graphics they are sharing with their peers shows us how prevalent alcohol, drugs and other drugs show up in our daily lives. 

  • 1 in 3 Songs have lyrics that talk about drugs, alcohol and tobacco.
  • 3 in 4 rap songs talk about drugs, alcohol and tobacco. 
  • In the past 9 years, the top 100 movies show 7 in 10 movies show characters smoking! In addition, 1 in 3 movies show characters getting drunk

ATI students are encouraging their peers to make better choices based on the facts! Alcohol, drugs and tobacco is portrayed as “cool” or “social acceptable” in the entertainment industry.
