The Partnership Attitudes Tracking Study (PATS) found that one – fourth of teens have misused or abused prescription drugs at least once. The findings goes on to indicate that some of the contributing factors to the increase include; not safeguarding medications at home, not properly disposing of unused medications, and parents are not effectively communicating the dangers of prescription drug misuse and abuse to their kids. In comparison, a majority of teens say they have discussed the risks of alcohol, and marijuana with their parents. To see more results of the PATS survey, click here.
