In February, SACK members had the opportunity to attend the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America CADCA event in Washinton D.C.  During the week, our members networked with many different coalitions from around the country.  They also partnered with the Working Together Coalition from Pine River, MN to meet with our state and local representatives to share on the effects of substance abuse on our youth.  Formed in 1999, the Working Together Coalition is a group of youth, parents, and community leaders from ten northern Minnesota communities that work to reduce substance use in their young people—with a specific emphasis on alcohol. To do this, the coalition has aimed to change the norm in the community around kids and drinking.
